Westlakes Speech Pathology is a boutique paediatric speech pathology service offering personalised speech therapy to each and every client, at a location and time convenient to each child and family. We offer a collaborative, person centred, trauma informed, neurodiversity affirming approach.
At Westlakes Speech Pathology, we believe in helping individuals achieve their communication potential. Our mission is to provide the highest quality speech pathology service to our clients.
We work collaboratively using evidence-based practise and personalised therapy plans to address each individual's unique communication support needs.
Highly trained and experienced speech pathologist who specialises in a variety of areas, including articulation, late talking, language, fluency, and literacy. We are dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest research and techniques to provide the best care possible.
Speech pathology (also known as speech therapy) is the assessment and treatment of communication disorders. It involves exercises and techniques to improve a person's communication skills. Speech pathology can help individuals with a variety of communication difficulties including stuttering, speech difficulties, language difficulties and literacy difficulties.

Tania has over 27 years of experience as a paediatric speech pathologist in the public health and private sectors. Tania has held a number of positions during her career including Senior Speech Pathologist and Clinic Manager, Early Intervention Specialist, Out of Home Care Team Speech Pathologist, Clinical Educator and Paediatric Interest Group Coordinator. Tania was also instrumental in developing the Speech Pathology Outreach Clinics at Awabakal Medical Centre and Nikinpa Child and Family Centre.
She has presented at conferences including Australian Children’s Welfare Association Conference, Australian Childhood Trauma Conference and Shine-a-Light Conference. She has also co-authored a number of journal articles.
Tania combines her wealth of experience, her knowledge of current research and ongoing professional development, to provide a personalised, evidence-based speech pathology service to meet your child’s communication goals.
She is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and maintains her Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status through regular professional development. She is also an active member of the NSW Evidence-Based Paediatric Speech Group.

Westlakes Speech Pathology accepts Allied health Care Plans (enhanced Primary Care Plans) from your GP. These plans will provide a Medicare rebate for the allocated number of sessions.
Westlakes Speech Pathology welcomes NDIS clients who ar plan or self-managed.
Westlakes Speech Pathology is a mobile speech pathology service, and appointments will occur at a location of your choosing. This includes home visits, daycare visits, preschool visits, school visits, therapy in the community.
Westlakes Speech Pathology believes in a collaborative approach to assessment and intervention. Westlakes Speech Pathology works in conjunction with other allied health providers and educators, advocating for and education regarding your child's unique communication needs.
Prior to your child's initial appointment, you will be sent a case history questionnaire. Completing this and returning it to the speech pathologist prior to the initial appointment, provides essential background information, whilst allowing for the speech pathologist to spend more time getting to know your child and their communication support needs. The assessment will include a combination of: discussions with parents/carers, observations, informal assessments and standardised assessments depending on your child's needs.
